Just like Cytunity, PCTyx also using pages. You can switch pages by using scroll wheel on the pages bar or clicking the arrows on the corners.
Additional Hotkeys [As of 131.02] (Can be Modified by User in assets folder)
Backspace
Clears all notes to the side
Ctrl+G
Toggles the grid. Also refreshes notes without turning pages, as the enter button in the old version is gone. Also allows you to undo since you don’t turn the page.
Ctrl+C
Copies the current page. So of course…
Ctrl+V
Pastes the last copied page. Also automatically inverts if the copied page is on an opposite side (scan going down vs scan going up). Does not change note id’s. Remember this when copying drags.
Ctrl+O
Overlay copied page onto current page. This means all notes on the current page are removed and the copied page is pasted. I don’t use this much.
Ctrl+M
Flips the page along the middle. Useful in tandem with copy/paste to mirror along the middle. Does not change drag id’s.
W/S
Moves a note vertically by a small amount. Useful for making flick drags.
A/D
Moves a notes horizontally by a small amount. Pretty much mandatory for making decent-looking curves in tandem with no grid snap.
Q/E
Increases/decreases note id. For use with drags and holds in case clicking and/or scrolling is too unwieldy.
Now after learning everything up there, we can start charting, but before we put down notes, we need to make sure the scanline is on sync with the beat.
You will need music BPM and Offset. Both can be found in Audio Preparation
Then you can set BPM and Scanline shift.
Go to Grid Mode. And set Grid Shift to 0.0001
Go to Editing Mode, Press Hotkey 2.
Then just drag the notes from the sides like so (click on the image):
To move the note vertically, use Hotkey 1 and drag it upwards or downwards.
You can also use scroll wheel or the W/S hotkeys for precise timing. This can be useful for making flick drags when the notes are near-horizontal.
You begin a drag chain by converting a note into a drag head. Follow this by converting notes into brown chain notes. Drag heads follow the scan line to the next chain note until another drag head of the same id is reached. To change the ID of a drag head or chain note, click on them with their appropriate key selected or use Q/E to modify them regardless of tool selected..
Creating Hold notes have the same steps as Creating drag notes.
First, put down some notes. Then activate Create Hold Notes (Hotkey 6), and click the note you want to create hold notes. Then by using Scroll Wheel on that notes (while still on Create Hold notes), you can use them to adjust the length. You can also click on the note or use Q/E to extend the length. Here’s an example (click on the image)
Sometimes you make a mistake, or have a change of mind from drag or hold and want to go back to click notes.
Press Hotkey 3 and you’ll be on your way.
