Fellow Scout Parents,
My how this fall is flying by! I wanted to let you guys know some of the upcoming events and dates for the rest of the 2017 calendar year.
Our next Pack Meeting is Friday, 11/16/18 at the South Franklin Social Hall at 6:30pm. Please bring your T-shirt order form (attached) with you for the Pack meeting. We will be ordering shirts and hope to have them ready by the Christmas party. Each scout gets a free navy t-shirt with the option to purchase additional navy shirts, camo shirts, or grey hoodie sweatshirts. The Committee meeting will be on Thursday, 11/15/18 at 6:30pm at the Social Hall.
On 11/23/18, there is a 10 Commandment and Worlds Faith Hike in Pittsburgh. The hike will take scouts to 10 different houses of worship in the greater Shadyside and North Oakland area, where they will learn about each of the 10 Commandments and about a variety of world faiths. Cost is $10/person, and you should register by 11/09/18 before the price goes up. In light of the event in Squirrel Hill last weekend, this event is a good way to educate our scouts about the different faiths in the world. I'd highly recommend attending, so check out this website or the pack calendar for more details.
Our Pack Christmas Party will be on Sunday, 12/2/18 at the South Franklin Social Hall. More details and times will be announced later.
We will be participating in the Washington Christmas Parade on Friday, 12/7/18. We will be building the float for the parade a few days beforehand, but the exact date won't be known until we get closer to December. Go out now and buy some discounted Halloween candy to pass out during the parade!
Now for some boring (yet important) administrative business.
Pack dues and BSA fees are due now so that we can recharter our Pack next month. If you haven't already done so, please see Heather Hickman to get paid up. Pack dues are $110/year ($55 for Lions), and the annual BSA fee is $33. If you would like to use your popcorn money or set up a payment plan, please see Mrs. Hickman.
Please fill out Medical Forms A and B (attached) and give them to your Den Leader. We are going to keep everyone's form on file each year, so you will only have to fill it out once a year.
We need a copy of every adult's PA clearances that will be attending events with scouts, including den meetings. Please follow this link (scroll down to the bottom of the page) to obtain your clearances and bring a copy to your Den leader. While you are there, please do the Youth Protection Training as well. I will need all of these forms from each adult before you will be allowed to spend the night at a future Pack event. No exceptions!
