Greetings from the new Cubmaster!
As many of you know, Will Zoeller has stepped down from his role as Cubmaster. I had the pleasure of working alongside Will last year as Assistant Cubmaster, and let me be the first to thank him for all of the hard work and dedication he invested in Pack 1017! Pack 1017 is active, fun, and growing thanks to the dedicated work of all the parent volunteers and leaders, especially Will. Thank you!
Let me introduce myself. I grew up as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Carroll, OH and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. I work for American Electric Power as a transmission construction representative, and my family and I moved to Claysville, PA, the hometown of my wife, Laura, in 2015. My son, Levi, is a Tiger cub this year and started Cub Scouts last year as a Lion. Levi has two younger sisters, Anna and Ruth.
I am humbled and blessed to be serving as the new Cubmaster of Pack 1017. I look forward to getting to know each of the scouts and their families. Cub Scouts is all about having fun and teaching kids skills that will help them later on in life. I hope you will join me as we teach scouts that doing their best is the most fun of all! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, if you would like to volunteer, or if you see ways I or the pack can improve.
Yours in Scouting,
Nick Hornbeck
