Cottage Description

Cranberry Sky cottage is a typical northern Ontario camp - it is off grid with no electricity or cell service, untreated water and limited waste treatment. In emergency, a cell signal can be picked up 5-20 km south on hwy 533 towards Mattawa and WiFi is available at Tim Hortons in Mattawa. Night lighting is provided by solar powered lights, propane ceiling lights, candles, and flashlights. There is limited running water and abundant lake water for washing! Bottled water is required for drinking. There is a large clean Outhouse beside the cottage, and a pee bucket in the washroom for night use. The cottage would best suit people with some camping experience and familiar with the natural environment. It is ideal for young families who would like a little more comfort and convenience for their children than a camping trip would afford, or for older families who would like the same for themselves! The cottage is much more convenient and comfortable than camping, with beds, sunporch, propane stove, fridge and cooking gear.

Cottage - 3 bedrooms, (Double bed, queen bed, two twin beds), sleeps up to 6

Bunkie - 2 rooms, sleeps up to 4 (double bed, two twin beds), unheated

Outhouse: Large clean outdoor privy (outhouse)

Washroom: Washbasin (no running water), pee bucket (with seat). Outdoor solar heated shower stall using rainwater and camp solar shower bags. Also a large lake for washing!

Living room: Large open living room with woodstove, couches, dining table, propane lights (see Interior Photos )

Sunroom

Most of the indoor living happens in this room - eating, sitting, playing cards and board games. Large bright room with dining/game table, comfy chairs, ping pong table, darts. Full view of the beach and up the lake. Patio doors lead out to the deck and bar-b-q area.
