2009年11月に沖縄県久米島において行われた久米島海洋生物合同調査 『KUMEJIMA 2009』の成果をまとめた論文集「Scientific Results of the Kumejima Marine Biodiversity Expedition—KUMEJIMA 2009」 (Zootaxa特別号) に掲載された論文です。僕はこの合同調査に参加することができなかったのですが、台湾のフジツボ研究者 Benny K.K. Chan博士がアオウミガメに付着するフジツボ類を採集し、その分類学的な記載についてお手伝いをしました。この論文で扱ったウミガメに付着するフジツボ類は、日本ではよく見られるサラフジツボ Platylepas hexastylos だったのですが、底引き網で採集したミョウガガイ・エボシガイの仲間に未記載種が１つずつ発見され、それぞれ新種として記載されています。
