    • General Biology (or an equivalent introductory biology course)
    • Botany with Plant Family Identification
    • General Ethnobotany/Ethnobiology

If you have not completed the General Ethnobotany/Ethnobiology course requirement, the following alternatives exists:

  • The Introductory Ethnobotany (BOT 105) course is offered at University of Hawai`i on the island of O`ahu and will be offered in the semester (Fall) prior to this field school.
  • The BOT 105 course video contents may be reviewed on-line and the text book reading assignments read as individual preparation without registering for the course. While this will not be as useful as taking the course, this alternative can serve as a useful refresher.

The BOT 105 course web site is at: https://sites.google.com/site/introductoryethnobotany/Home/description
