Environmental Measurements: Precipitation

Overall Objectives

Water is key to the survival of plants. The objective is be able to measure the precipitation in several contexts that relate to the distribution of plants.

  • Precipitation spatial patterns (e.g., regional, island-wide, local, site)
  • Precipitation temporal patterns (e.g., long-term, annual, monthly, daily)
  • Factors influencing precipitation (e.g., tree canopy)
  • Fog/Cloud interception

Some of the data come from your own measurement. Other data come from "trusted" resources, such as government agencies and plantation records.
