Welcome to the 'somewhat' revived, original Conrad Jones Karate archives.
We are a Tennessee Wado Ryu Karate Jutsu school.
Our Sensei, Conrad Jones, has been training Wado for 45 years. His sensei was David Deaton, deshi of the late progenitor Cecil T. Patterson, karate pioneer who brought Wado to the USA in 1957.
Our focus is more on practical self defense training and principles than tournament point sparring. The Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu and Kenjutsu principles founder Otsuka infused into his style are of great interest to us.
Most of the data represented here, are from my original old website and research, gathered in the 1990s.
Many of the links may be broken, and some of the history is 2-decades out of date, unfortunately, many 1st and 2nd generation Wadoka have passed away (Suzuki, Jiro, Kono, Arakawa, Eriguchi, Patterson, Oghami, Ajari...to name just a few, who were living back when I originally gathered and built the website info )
I will work more on the dead links, and add more archival info, as well as begin over time to update the old data.
I hope you find value in the restored archive.
Dave Taylor, CJK Website author and historian.
