Guidelines for a Search Committee
"Searching for a new pastor"
When a congregational search committee has been selected, the district executive will meet with the search committee for an Orientation session. The district executive can provide an introduction and overview of the search process, an introduction to developing a congregational profile, guidelines for interviewing and more.
The district executive will assist the search committee in developing a list of potential candidates, securing clearance to contact candidates and arranging for an interview. In most cases, the district executive will be present for interviews of pastoral candidates.
