Northern Indiana District Leadership Nomination

The District Personnel Committee invites your participation in the calling of district leadership.

We are given the responsibility to prepare a ballot/slate for District Conference.

We maintain a data base of gifted individuals who have been recommended or nominated for various district responsibilities.

We ask you to suggest names so that we may build up this data base and keep it current.

Moderator-elect/Moderator (2 year term)

The first year shall be served as Moderator-elect, the second year as Moderator of District Conference. The Moderator shall preside at business sessions of the District Conference and chair the Program & Arrangements Committee. The Moderator-elect shall perform the duties of the Moderator in the Moderator's absence or as requested by the Moderator, and shall become familiar with the program of the District in preparation for becoming Moderator. Both may represent the district for various functions throughout the year.

Program & Arrangements Committee (3 year term)

Shall be responsible for planning the District Conference program, facilities, exhibits, and registration. Includes the Moderator, Moderator-elect, and three additional members.

Personnel Committee (3 year term)

Prepares the ballot/slate for District Conference elected offices and develops a data base of district persons and gifts for use in making appointments. Committee includes one person from each of the six sections of the district with two elected each year. The 2012 members will be called from sections two and five.

District Board (3-year term)

Manage and administer the work of the district as authorized by District Conference, to which it is accountable. The Board is the incorporated body and legal agent of the district. Generally meets monthly on a week-night evening. Consists of nine members (8 elected members + the District Executive Minister). Moderator, Moderator-elect and two Standing Committee delegates are Resource Persons and often meet with the Board.

Annual Conference Standing Committee (3-year term)

Elected by District Conference and serve as district delegates to Annual Conference and its Standing Committee; provide orientation to congregational delegates; are resource persons to District Board.
