Alpha Pregnancy Center Ministry
You may feel scared, resentful, angry, alone.  Alpha Pregnancy Center is here to help you.  All services are free and confidential.  No judgements are made.  No strings attached.  They can:  make community resource information available; meet particular needs on a one-to-one basis; help women face one of the most difficult decision of their life.

The Sheltering Tree Cold Weather Shelter for the homeless in Flagler County is open on cold nights when the temperature dips to 40 degrees or less. The Shelter is located at First United Methodist Church in Bunnell at 205 North Pine Street (behind Bank of America on Moody Boulevard).  We help prepare meals, distribute donated clothing and spend the night with those seeking shelter.

Run by Church Women United, The Resource Center helps local families put food on their tables.  Those in need may only use the Resource Center once every two months.  Food and/or monetary donations are always needed and welcome to help keep the shelves stocked.  Of late, the demand on this Resource Center has outpaced the supplies.
Samaritan Ministries Flagler
Samaritan Ministries is a refuge of hope and healing for those who are hurting by providing an environment of safety and nurturing to those women and teens who are overcome by life's problems by providing them with the means they will need to make positive choices in their lives.  Samaritan Ministries advocates for and mentors women in Flagler County, Florida ... women who desire to transition from lives of poverty, abuse and/or who face unplanned pregnancies ...  by offering counseling and assistance which may involve academic, vocational, emotional and/or spiritual issues. Samaritan Ministries was established in 2001 to fill the void that existed in services to single moms and other women within the community.  In 2002 we were awarded the “Points of Light” award from the "Make A Difference Foundation."
Lake City's V A Medical Center's Recreational Therapy:  "Let's Play It Again" Bingo
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church / P.O. Box 216 / Wellborn, FL  32094
SOTC Adult Choir members continually contribute to help make this ministry of Rev. D. J. Mate (the son of two of our members) happen.   Coupon books are supplied as prizes for the Bingo winners and the books are used to purchase food in the canteen or items in the Medical Center's retail store.  The Bingo also provides patients and residents an opportunity to socialize and the "books" provide a sense of freedom to shop and treat themseves.  Snacks are also made available during the Bingo.  It takes approximately $200 each month to sponsor this event and Rev. Mate believes our veterans have done more than enough to earn it.  All contributions are welcome.  Please send checks c/o VA Bingo (also place "Bingo" in the check's memo line) to the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at the above address and please include your prayers for the patients, residents and their families.
