Mildred Lee Clifton, 67, of Oak Island died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport.
Mrs. Clifton was born August 30, 1941, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Lerone Dillon and Velma Corns Dillon.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Clifton; a son, Teddy R. Clifton and wife Dee of Kernersville; three daughters, Bonnie C. Amos and husband Ronnie of Sandy Ridge, Mandy C. Dunnigan and husband Steven of Oak Island, and Terri C. Hall and husband Clay of Stoneville; five grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Clifton, Katlin Grace Clifton, Austin James Hall, Morgan Ann Hall and Michael Clay Hall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Sandy Ridge, with the Rev. Milton Gunter and the Rev. Melvin Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home in Southport.
