John Stoneman Clifton

 John Stoneman Clifton, son of William Barton Clifton and Sarah Rakes,  was born 22 Feb 1866 in Patrick Co, Va, and died 04 Feb 1937. He married Ora Etta Dehart 21 May 1893 in Patrick Co, Va. She was born 10 Apr 1869 in Patrick Co, Va, and died 20 Sep 1942.

Children of John Clifton and Ora Dehart are:

i. Homer Elzia Clifton, born 29 Jul 1899; died May 1965. He married Grace Bowling 03 Aug 1919; born 20 Feb 1902 in Patrick Co, Va.

ii. Sena M. Clifton, died 27 Jun 1989 in Stuart, Va. She married Frankie Cassell Jan 1912; died 1972.

Mrs. Sena Clifton Cassell, of Vesta, VA., died Tuesday, June 27, 1989, in a Stuart Hospital. She was the only daughter of the late John S. Clifton and Ora DeHart Clifton. She married Frankie Cassell in January, 1912. They resided many years in Roanoke before their retirement, at which time they returned to Patrick County before moving to Daytona Beach, Fla. They returned to Vesta, Va. In 1960. She was preceded in death in 1972 by her husband and in 1965 by her only brother, H. Elza Clifton. She is survived by nephews, cousins, a sister-in-law & brother-in-law and many friends. Moody’s Funeral Home in Stuart will be in charge of arrangements. Graveside service will be held at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Moodys Funeral Home from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
