Ella Bernice Boyd

Ella Bernice Boyd, daughter of Putnam Boyd and Nancy Harriett Clifton,  was born 20 Dec 1901, and died 10 Feb 1995 in Danville Va. She married Calvin McDowell Paxton 1920. He died 1971.

Children of Ella Boyd and Calvin Paxton are:

i. Living Paxton, born 1923.

ii. Living Paxton, born 1922. She married Henry Lowe; born 1922; died 1985.

Ella Bernese Boyd Paxton, 93, formerly of 5 Selma Ave., died Friday, Feb. 10 1995, in Roman Eagle Nursing Home.

Born Dec. 20, 1901, in Woolwine, she was a daughter of Putnam N. Boyd and Nancy Clifton Boyd.

She lived in Danville most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Schoolfield Baptist Church.

She was married to Calvin McDowell Paxton in 1920 at Schoolfield Baptist Church. He died in 1971.

Survivors include three sisters, Ruth B Parrish, Nancy B. Collins and Lucy B. Triplett, all of Danville, 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She had two daughters, Evelyn P. Large and Ruby P. Lowe; and one son, Jerry M. Paxton, who were all predeceased. She was also preceded in death by one grandson.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Townes Funeral Home by the Rev. John LaRue. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
