Cover Art

Beginning in 1983 when Alton Langford took over the artistry duties for Ranger Rick, a new artistic piece was found in most of the issues. Langford often had drawn Rick in various situations on one of the first couple of pages where they would often list the staff of magazine. These pictures were sometimes themed around a holiday or a special event the federation was hosting at the time. This "Cover Art" (for the lack of a better name) replaced the Ranger Pledge drawing Lorin Thompson had drawn for the magazine. By 1985, however, the cover art had disappeared, with animal photography replacing it. The Ranger Pledge had officially disappeared as well at this time.

All drawings are by Alton Langford.
