There is just a small checklist of things left to do. The first big thing was to clean out the cockpit and fiberglass it - done.
Other things include:
varnish the bottom of the boat (in process)
reinstall the slider and seat
await splash cheeks and install
install handle
install cover; I think I need to return this and reorder as I measured today and the boat is not set up evenly. The front is 12 feet long and the back is 9-10 feet. I think I ordered 11 feet. Another small oops.
Cut the gunnels, varnish, then install it
Cut the piece that is in the cockpit that is like a barrier and support to the cockpit section. I measured it this weekend and have a pattern set for someone to cut.
cut the metal pieces that hold the oars and the shoes.
speaking of shoes - find some.
Speaking of things to do, yesterday Saturday, I had a good idea. I would fiberglass the left over fiberglass to the 'shelf' on the top of the boat. This would create a little bit of an extra barrier for water. Good idea - bad execution - if I'd left the boat upside down, it might have been OK, but I didn't and the leftover resin dripped down the side of the boat. We'll try and repair tomorrow.
