About Us

Andy Nowak has been teaching chess to children in northern New Mexico since 1977. We were lucky to have his passion and availability for our children.

Mark Galassi is a scientist and tournament chess player who has been coaching children in Santa Fe. Our club offers instruction by Mark and visiting chess coaches.

We organize various chess tournaments, including the annual Santa Fe Mayor's Cup, current tourney starts 2014-05-21.

Our goal is to have a stable location and schedule where children can drop in every week, with flexible times, and receive instruction, paired games with other children, and simultaneous play against strong local players.
