Motor Mount

The motor mount on the Christopher-Jin was in sore shape.  It was a small unit with only 2 weak springs and the mounting plate was made of rotting wood.

I found a 4 spring aluminum mount on eBay.  I mounted it on the transom.  I was able to reuse most of the holes, but had to drill a few new ones.  I recommend coating the insides of all holes with epoxy.  Allow the epoxy to cure before inserting bolts.  Also retighten the bolts after several hours of running and again after several more hours of running.

My Mercury is fairly heavy and I'm actually thinking of adding a stainless gas spring next year.

The Mercury is an electric start and recharges the starting battery.
