Join Carboncopies.org!

(Team member search, Nov.2013.)

Want to be on the inside, making Substrate-Independent Minds and Mind Uploading happen? Are you personally interested in this for the future and willing to be involved now and for the long-term? Would you like to elevate what you can do to contribute? And would you like the opportunity to get to know and work with leading scientists, developers and thinkers in the fields of whole brain emulation, neural prostheses, neural interfaces, neuromimetic hardware, neuromorphic hardware, neurotechnology, brain-machine interfaces, and many more?

If you do, then contact us now!

In the past 2 years, the efforts of carboncopies.org have been so successful that whole brain emulation is now recognized as an important, concrete and valid research goal in neuroscience labs and that in-vivo recording at high resolution from every neuron was not only acknowledged as the principal hurdle, but resulted in team work towards a solution between the most promising neuro tool developers. As a consequence, milestones on the roadmap have been achieved and a next iteration is in the works! Of course, the clear acceleration of progress toward SIM has also resulted in a serious ramp-up of tasks at carboncopies.org. We need a bigger team!

Some skills that can be put to immediate use:

As we ramp up, we are transitioning the form and support structure of the carboncopies.org foundation. Joining our efforts at this time begins as part time intern or volunteer (depending on your long-term interest/committment and tasks) and most tasks can be done remotely.

But please note (!) that a significant intention of this search is to identify qualified individuals who can become core members of the organization, with a possibility to transition into part/full-time career positions. So, while we are interested in all contributors, we would like in particular to hear from you if you would consider such a transition.

If you are interested send an email to Randal.A.Koene@carboncopies.org with a little info about:

This is a pretty informal process and relies mostly on 1-on-1 communication.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
