MY GOODNESS, WHAT A FABULOUS SUMMER SEASON!!

Wednesday On Main was amazing this year - incredibly talented musicians, our favorite puppet troupe (see them December 12th at The Alamo when they present The Grinch, as really only they can), and the generosity of Sam Lardner and the Barcelona gang to do a benefit for our very needy Animal Shelter (donations can be made to the cause at any time to The Town of Bucksport). Fall is nearly here, and the Wednesday On Main 2027 season planning has begun.

This series cannot happen without the support of our underwriters, sponsors and patrons, so thank you one and all for your generous contributions - since 2015! And so many thanks to David Weeda for providing his delicious shortbread at every Wednesday event!

Don't miss the December 2026 holiday concerts - the one and only Paul Sullivan and friends on 12/6 and the other one and only Bagaduce Chorale on 12/20. Each event will be at the Bucksport Performing Arts Center at the Bucksport Middle School, 3:30 pm start time for both. PLEASE reserve your seat via Eventbrite - it's the one sure way we can manage attendance - we do NOT want to turn anyone away at the door.

Little Chucky heads to the Wild West to outwit outlaws in this cowboy adventure! With a fistful of bananas, Chucky rides into town on his trusty goat for a showdown with Big Bad Bart and his gang of bandits. (*please note that there are no guns in the show).

“The Legend of the Banana Kid” features 20 hand-crafted glove, mouth and rod puppets, and a slew of flying and twirling styrofoam bananas.

The Newell Family Band

Playing for contra dances and specializing in down east style fiddling as well as old timey and gypsy music. Carter Newell (Grampa) has been fiddling in Maine for over 5 decades. Maisie Newell, Eric Dayan, and their children perform with four fiddles and guitar, sharing old-time tunes from North Carolina alongside music Maisie learned during her travels in Eastern Europe. Three generations of fiddle tunes and a lot of fun in store!

Buck Memorial Library and The Bucksport Historical Society Present Jon & Li Waterman of Sultana who weave history, original song and slideshow in honor of the 250th Birthday of the USA into a unique and clever story of heroes, celebrities, immigrants, indigenous peoples, injustices and progress.

Sultana is the duo of musicians Jon and Li Waterman, who perform together to create the most unique and interesting presentations around. LI is a classically trained guitarist and singer who played in the band Allen Tesh. Jon's song "Sultana" tells the story of the Civil Warm steamboat disaster. They've appeared all around the country - we're in for a delightful evening.

The Wednesday On Main PLUS Winter Event Series is proud to announce grant support from the Maine Community Foundation, helping to expand holiday programming in Bucksport this season.
