BUCKSPORT’S WEDNESDAY ON MAIN 2017 SUMMER EVENT SERIES

KICKS OFF 3RD ANNUAL SEASON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14, 2017

Wednesday On Main, generously sponsored by Darling’s, Inc., of Augusta, Bangor and Ellsworth, and The Town of Bucksport, will begin its 3rd season of live events every week, all Summer, on Bucksport’s Main Street starting June 14th, opening with the beloved Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers presenting their wacky version of “The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow” (it’s NOT just for Halloween!), to please kids from 4 to 94.

This year’s events feature lots of music, from Bluegrass to Soul to Rock-a-billy, a new film series, and special guest Mel Allen, Editor in Chief, Yankee Magazine (June 21).  EVERYTHING happens downtown! Under the Main Street tent, at the Gazebo on the Waterfront, at The Alamo Theatre, or, at the Town’s newest venue, the Lighthouse Arts Center Waterfront Patio, WOM spotlights all of Bucksport’s delightful Main Street and their many restaurants and merchants – and ice cream, of course – who are open late on Wednesdays!  There is no admission fee to any event, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Extending the season for the first time, Wednesday On Main, in partnership with WERU Community Radio, will offer a series of 4 Music Documentary Films at The Alamo Theatre.  Beginning Wednesday, September 6, and continuing through September 27, four iconic films, The Wrecking Crew, Down From the Mountain, Chuck Berry – Hail Hail Rock & Roll! and Muscle Shoals, chronicle the creation of music of the last many decades – and possibly of your lifetime.  6:30 pm, Admission $8.
