To the Community:
What an amazing Summer we have had in this Town in 2015! Thanks to the combined efforts of so many, we have enjoyed Art, Music, Dance, Movies, Food and so much more, like never before. It is a testament to the commitment to living our lives in a supportive, welcoming and fired-up community that is taking concrete steps to create life after the Mill closing.
Being mindful of those who have been severely impacted by the loss of income from the Mill closing, we must continue to work to bring new jobs and families to Bucksport, and find ways to make our businesses more successful. The familiar refrain of Shop Local hasn’t lost its meaning in this town.
Wednesday On Main wants to thank their financial supporters, The Town of Bucksport and our Chamber of Commerce, my committee members, town businesses who partnered and participated every single week (13 weeks!), and everyone everywhere who attended our events – you made it happen, it was hugely successful, and it meant everything to see our Main Street come alive and be joyful all summer long. We are already working on next year’s program and funding, and look forward to continuing the momentum – and the fun!
We surely do believe in Bucksport!!
