Christmas Eve: An Immigrant's Vision

The dark king in the Nativity Scene didn't come to stay.

If he did, would he still be welcome in the light of day?

If the only gifts he brought, were hardworking hands and mind,

Would Jesus tell the dark king, the star wasn't for his kind?

Once Jesus said to me, "they don't talk about it much,

But I was born a brown Asian, and never owned a home and such

I was as you are, and I told them to remember

We're all migrants on this earth and the children of one father."
