My Opinion: I became an early an early King fan and loved many of his early books such as Salem's Lot, Firestarter, Pet Semetary, and The Stand but began to lose interest when his books like It, seemed to be written just to see how much gore he could pack in. Since the 90's I have read very few of his books so I don't have much of a feel for what he writes today. There is no question about his immense talent and prolific production. Any not familiar with his work should try him out and I suggest starting with his earlier works.
