Box, C. J.

Charles James (C.J.) Box, Jr. is a New York Times bestselling American author of a number of novels and short stories, including the Joe Pickett series. A native of Wyoming, Box lives outside of Cheyenne with his wife Laurie and daughters Molly, Becky and Roxanne. The first novel in his Joe Pickett series, Open Season, was included in The New York Times list of "Notable Books" of 2001.^[3] He also has written several stand-alone novels. He is a graduate of the University of Denver.

My Opinion: Best noted for his series featuring wildlife lover and game warden Joe Pickett , the novels take place in Wyoming and feature Joe's rigid morality which only bends when his family is threatened. There are a number of complimentary characters to keep the interest up. Between pickup crashes and attacks on Joe, I have enjoyed each and every volume. Easy reading with lots of wildlife info. I strongly recommend him to you. Should you choose not to try him, I may have to "get Western" with you. (definition in his books).
