This is Grandma's Apple Pie Recipe
Crust
Sift 1 cup flour and 1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 C. + 1 T. chilled butter-cut in.
Mix with finger tips. Sprinkle the dough with up to 2 T. cold water. Lift flour with fork. Form
into ball. Roll out and lay in pie plate. Apply cold water to attach broken pieces of dough if necessary.
Bake pie dough for 5-6 minutes at 450F.
Filling
Slice 6-8 Granny Smith peeled apples - fill pan to heaping.
Squeeze 1/2-whole lemon over apples.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Pour over apples.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 C. flour. Add 1/3 cup butter - cut in and mix together for crumble topping.
Bake pie for 10 minutes at 450F covered with a piece of tin foil loosely laid on top of pie.
Remove tin foil after 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350 F and continue baking for 30 more minutes.
