WORKSHOP: SOCIAL MEDIA 101 (AND 102) FOR NON-PROFITS AND CONSERVATION AGENCIES: SAVE TIME, RECYCLE YOUR CONTENT, AND BOOST ENGAGEMENT

Background: Social networking and social media are key to engagement and drive membership and fundraising for organizations and causes worldwide.
Overview and Objectives: In this workshop you will learn the best practices for using several social media platforms with minimum effort for maximum engagement. We will discuss how to connect your social media platforms and how to turn social media engagement into on-the-ground conservation action and funding.
We will discuss best practices including:
· Safety online
· Personal vs. organization accounts
· Types of content and which are best for which platform
· #hashtags and @ tags
· Creating accessible content and tracking your own statistics to see what works for you.
Required: Workshop participants should come with social media accounts that can be connected and streamlined during the workshop, along with a digital device to access those accounts. Show up early if you need help to set these up. We will focus on Facebook (groups and pages), Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
