2010.05.13 - Victoria Stahl - Fascia affects frontal plane movement
- No differences observed in sagittal plane kinematics when cutting the crural fascia
- Could this because of accuracy of kinematics?
- Fasciotomy increases variability in movement in frontal plane
- Questions
- Are the changes absolute? Relative magnitude would appear different, since forces are significantly different between frontal and sagittal planes
- Internal/external rotation may account for variability, does this correspond to the greater frontal plane variability?
- Cutting the interosseous ligament shows similar behavior, is it possible it is just a loss in limb "stiffness"?
- How does muscle definition affect the role of fascia?
