About Me

I began my teaching career many years ago in northeast Wisconsin. I have been fortunate to work with a variety of educators and interact with thousands of students throughout my career. During the course of my career I have been asked to teach a variety

Currently in my fifth year here at Little Chute High, I can safely say that I've discovered my calling. I absolutely love teaching; it allows me to pursue my interests in the biological sciences while sharing my passion for learning with others. How can any profession be more rewarding, really?

I teach sophomore biology, ecology & environmental science, human anatomy & physiology, and food and exercise science (Independent Study). I've always possessed a profound fascination with both biological and environmental sciences, so it only seems fitting that I'm able to explore both of these disciplines with my students on a daily basis.

Beyond teaching, I also serve as the EARTH Club Advisor for the high school. This position is especially rewarding for me because it allows me to share my deepest passion with my students: environmental stewardship. Fortunately for me, I learn just as much from my students as they learn from be about what it truly means to be a conservationist. Currently pursuing my Master's of Science in Environmental Education, I hope to continue learning how I can most effectively engage my students in making proenvironmental decisions. After all, anyone can talk the talk...I'd like to demonstrate to my students that I also know how to walk the walk.

Moreover, I've always considered myself a lifelong learner. Even when I'm not enrolled in courses to further my degree, I find myself engaged in "citizen science." Being a member of the Wisconsin Union of Concerned Scientists allows me ample opportunity to participate in data collection which helps keep a watchful eye on the state of our environment.

Outside of teaching and advising, I have many hobbies that consume most of my time. Being a bit of a "fitness enthusiast," I absolutely love to stay active, whether it be by running, hiking, biking, or weight-lifting. I'm also an avid camper and outdoors-man. There's just nothing quite like the serenity of breathing in fresh air while hiking through a forest or prairie.

When I'm not spending time outdoors, you'll probably find me at home with my beautiful wife, Elizabeth, listening to music or watching movies...we're both really big pop culture fans, as well.
