TOUCH TYPING
Touch typing is typing without using the sense of sight to find the keys. A touch typist will know their location on the keyboard through muscle memory.Â
HUNT & PECK
Hunt and peck is a common form of typing, in which the typist presses each key individually. Instead of relying on the memorized position of keys, the typist must find each key by sight. Use of this method may also prevent the typist from being able to see what has been typed without glancing away from the keys. Although good accuracy may be achieved, any typing errors that are made may not be noticed immediately, if at all.
The most common modern-day keyboard layout for English keyboards. The name comes from reading the first six keys appearing on the top left row of keys.
Words per minute, commonly abbreviated WPM, is often used as a measurement of typing speed.
