Ball Handling

7's with a Partner

• 7 – Two arm overhead tosses to partner (Partner overhead passes back)

• 7 – One arm tosses to partner (Partner passes back) - Make sure thrower follows through with the toss.

• 7 – Swings (down balls) to partner (Partner digs back)

•  SWITCH!

Toss pass catch (switch after 7)

• Groups of 3 two balls.

• One tosses to passer on other side of net. Passer passes to target. Target throws ball back to tosser. Rotate after 7 tosses. When all 3 have tossed then each does 7 down balls. After all have done down balls all do 7 serves.

Butterfly

• Follow your ball. Tosser, target & passer on each side of net.

• Tosser > Passer across net > target > tosser on same side of net

Butterfly 2 

• Same as first butterfly but the target becomes a setter and sets the ball to another target in the OH position. The new target becomes tosser WITH THE SAME GROUP.

National team drill

• 3 ON 3 - switch with partner standing just outside the court from you every time you touch the ball. Great for making cooperative. For example, all touches must be overhead pass. +1 every time ball goes over with three overhead touches. 

Last Man Standing –Cooperative Back Row Attacks

• 3 Players & Setter on Court. Single wait line behind end line.

• Starts with a toss.

• Players pass, set, attack to someone on other side, if you make the error (miss hit) You’re out and must sit out until next round and cheer rest on.  If it's a good hit but player shanks the ball, it's a wash. You are only out on miss hit because the focus is on the back row attack. Will play until just one hitter is left. Winner earns incentive.

Do All Active warm-up

• Server serves ball to the passer.

• Setter transitions to the net from behind the cone.

• Passer passes ball to the setter.

  • Setter sets Hitter.

• Hitter approaches and attempts to hit ball to the Defender.

• Blocker attempts to block Hitter.

• Defender attempts to dig ball to the blocker.

• Blocker lands and becomes the target for the defender.

Passing Warm-Up

• Pass or overhead pass the ball over net. Instead of returning to the line, player must run to court next to them to play ball.

Hitter Footwork Warm Up

•     All hitter Transition Warm-Up

                o       Block jump in middle.

                o    Three step crossover right and block jump.

                o    Transition off the net.

                o    Approach for a quick in middle.

                o    Three step crossover left and block jump.   

               o    Transition off the net.         

                o    Approach for a quick in middle.
