Show Stopping Micro-Beaded Model Horse Tack and Dolls
If you are a model horse shower you have likely seen my Native American costumes on the show tables around the country and in the winner's circle at most of the top shows. I strive to keep my costumes in scale and historically correct. I don't show myself but my customers tell me that my costumes that they are showing continually win and NAN qualify show after show.I hope you enjoy my work. It takes many long hours, sore fingers, and lots and lots of research and often some pretty hard to find materials.
I am not a Native American, however
in my artwork, modeling and depictions of Native Americans I have always striven to respect the varied cultures of the Indigenous Peoples of North America.
The micro beads I use to keep the costumes in scale are about the size of a grain of sand and the smallest ones - sizes 18/o, 22/o and 24/o will easily fit inside the hole of a "normal" size 11/o seed bead. These micro-beads have not been manufactured since the early 1900's and can be very expensive and very hard to locate.
I only take a very limited amount of commissions for Native American Indian Style model horse show tack - regalia (model horse "costumes")
I do not show model horses myself, and I do not write show reference or performance documentation for others, so if you want more information about Native American Indians and their horses, please look for links to reference materials on the web to help with your performance documentation or set-ups.
Disclaimer: In compliance with Public Law 101-644, the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 I clearly state that I am NOT a Native American. I am a non-Native crafts-person or "hobbyist" of European descent. I am not an enrolled member of, not associated in any way with, any Native American group, tribe or organization, nor do I have any Native American ancestry that I am aware of.
My work is purely "art" and stems from my own personal interpretation of my American life and my own experiences and travels. My artwork may, on occasion, be influenced by my appreciation of the artwork and crafts of the many diverse cultures and societies of this planet upon which we all share a mutual 'tribal' heritage."
