Why should you have me custom design and bead your horse's tack?
It's simple really.
You want the best for your horse.
Your horse is more than just livestock. It's your friend and companion and represents a major investment of your time, money and love. You want that horse you love so much to turn heads and to stand out in the arena or the show-ring or on the trail.
Sure, you can buy flashy 'off the rack' tack anywhere... The internet is full of cheaply made 'sparkly' tack, as is every single tack shop and you will see the same tack coming and going everywhere you ride. BUT, seriously, I think we are ALL tired of seeing all that cheap 'shiny' tacky mass-produced rhinestone "bling" that has flooded the market and, in all honesty, makes your horse look like you outfitted it at the dollar store, when what you really wanted all along was something that would enhance your horse's appearance and not take away from it!
What you really need to make your horse, and you, the epitome of understated elegance is custom designed hand beaded tack.
Only the finest hand beaded tack will achieve this and show off your good taste and style with custom bead-work designed around your own horse. My meticulously hand crafted beading is applied carefully by hand to your own high quality tack, by me alone, an artist with over 30 years of beading experience and a working knowledge of horses, tack and multiple riding disciplines.
When I design a custom beaded item for you, it is a piece of museum quality handmade art that should last a lifetime and still be able to be handed down to your children or grandchildren.
Why do I not sell ready made tack or provide the tack myself?
Because, quite simply, there is such wide an array of good quality tack available out there in every discipline that for me to possibly stock and store the proper size, color and style of tack for each and every individual and their horse would be impossible. By custom designing my unique bead-work to fit YOUR tack that YOU choose and that fits YOUR horse PERFECTLY, I can GUARANTEE that the QUALITY and STYLE will be exactly PERFECT for YOU and your BELOVED HORSE!
Some things to keep in mind
when considering beaded tack
Custom designed bead work is extremely labor intensive often taking more than an hour for each inch or less of beading not including the time it takes to sew the beading to your tack. Because beading is so time consuming it may take several weeks or even months to complete your order, depending on my other obligations and the amount and complexity of work to be done. I only use the finest 11/0 Jablonex Czech and 15/0 Japanese Myuki and Toho glass seed beads.
I DO NOT use any stock patterns, I custom design all of my own patterns. If I design a pattern just for you, I can use any colors or ideas you desire to match your barn colors or to best show off your horse or your own individual style.
All work shown on my website was custom designed and hand made by me, Cindy Walker and is original and one of a kind. Although my work has been copied by others, I DO NOT copy other people's work or designs.

Beaded Tack Care
In case you were worried about it, it's fine to get your beaded tack wet/sweaty/dirty, it's woven with, and sewn on with, Nymo industrial nylon thread http://www.coatsindustrial.com/en/products-applications/industrial-threads/nymo which is pretty much what's used for stitching leather upholstery or shoes or luggage, so of course it can even be oiled as long as it's hung to dry and not put up wet in an unventilated place... just like you would do with any other good tack.
Although I have not tried this with anything larger than a dog collar, I imagine that nylon tack with beading can probably be thrown into the washer safely as well (front loaders only) and it can definitely be vigorously hand washed.
The beads are the best quality of glass, so being wet/dirty/sweaty/oily doesn't hurt them either.
Enjoy your tack!
The only thing to remember is to never leave your horse tied up with it on because one good head rub on a post, board or trailer could destroy many hours of work!
The Ordering Process
The process is pretty simple really.
PRICING
Cost is relative to the amount of work required and it is completely dependent on the type and amount of beading as well as the size, type and cost of the beads used. Because each piece of tack and order is different, there is no "standard price" for my custom work.
I do have an old price list here if you want to get an idea of cost
Beaded Tack FAQs
Because everyone asks me the same questions, to save time here are the answers:
1. Time : if I do have an opening right now and can start on the beading right away. It will take me about 2 - 3 weeks to complete your beading from the time I receive your tack.
(Unless I need to order some special color of beads that I do not keep on hand - that could potentially add another week or more to the start time depending on how hard the beads are to locate.)
2. Cost: This depends on the total amount of beadwork you want, and the size of the beads I use.
So let's say, for example, that you want me to use the smallest size 15/0 beads and want a standard horse size browband (under 3/4 inch wide) beaded with 15 inches of beading and cheek pieces of 5" for each side and rosettes at the brow and bit ends.
That would be 25" total of beading @$15/inch = $375
2x 2" rosettes for the browband = $120
2x 1" rosettes for the bit ends = $70
** total price for that combination would be $565. + USPS shipping w/insurance to wherever you are.
**That is just a ballpark figure and you may want more or less beading or your tack may require different application methods and there are several other variables to consider, so it may actually work out to slightly more or less than that, but it gives you an idea of cost.
I require at least a 50% non refundable deposit when you send your tack and the balance is due before I return the beaded tack to you. Personal checks are fine, but my bank may decide to hold it until it clears so that may delay shipping time. I also accept credit cards or cash paid through pay-pal for added security and ease, but there is an additional 3% fee charged for that.
Thanks again for your inquiry and I look forward to working with you to make you some beautiful custom beaded tack!
I think that pretty much covers it, but please feel free to ask me any other questions you have and I will be happy to help.
PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required when you place your order, with the balance being due when the beading is completed. The deposit must be received by me before I can order the beads and start your project.Of course you can always pay the total 'up front' and that insures the payment will be cleared by the time the work is finished and your beaded tack can be returned to you immediately upon completion without any further delays.Payments can be made either in the form of a personal check or post office money order or paid through pay-pal**.
**ALL pay-pal orders will be charged an extra 3% to cover the extra fees and handling charges
