Bamford Methodist Church, Main Road
The Methodist Church in Bamford is a body of people within the local community, drawn together by the love of God in Christ, to worship, pray and try to follow the teaching of Jesus, by sharing, caring and encouraging others to know and love God.
Bamford’s minister, the Rev. Tim Morris is the Peak Circuit’s Superintendent Minister and has pastoral oversight of twelve churches.
We are part of the Village Church in Bamford. Services of worship are shared with the Anglican congregation and are held each Sunday at 11.00am and usually alternate between the Methodist church and St John the Baptist church (see churches' notice boards).
The chapel, built in 1811 and subsequently re-built and extended, stands on the main road but is entered from Taggs Knoll opposite the Anglers Rest.
The hall beneath the chapel provides good facilities for church activities and community use.
Story Keepers After School Club:
The Story Keepers club for Primary School children meets on Wednesdays weekly, during term time, in the Methodist hall from 3.30 to 5.00pm. Our children's & families' Worker, Dr Karen Perry, with help from local volunteers, leads the sessions - which include games, videos, craft, singing and bible teaching. About 14 children meet each week and have a good time learning, playing and doing. The club is sponsored by the Hope Valley Christian Youth Organisation.
There is also a Film & Social Group which meets fortnightly on Monday afternoons to which all are welcome.
