How to get here

By Road

From Manchester via the A57 Snake Pass. 

From Sheffield via either (i) the A57 or (ii) the A625 (which becomes the A6187 en route). 

From the south via the M1 (leaving at J29), then via Chesterfield and Hathersage.

By Train

Bamford station is on the Manchester to Sheffield line. see National Rail Enquires . The train frequency is generally hourly.

It travelling from London, travel from London St Pancras, and change at Sheffield.

By Bus

Both the following bus routes run a number of times each day:

257 Sheffield - Ladybower - Bamford - Hathersage - Grindleford - Eyam - Baslow - Bakewell  (No Sunday service)

272 Sheffield - Fox House - Hathersage - Bamford station - Bradwell - Hope - Castleton  (Journeys which run via the Royal Hallamshire Hospital are numbered 271.)

Additionally, there is a summer-only hourly open-top bus (the "Blue route"):  Chatsworth - Baslow - Grindleford - Hathersage - Bamford station - Hope - Castleton
