It is a well written literature review.

However, it is not a synopsis. There is only one short paragraph at the end about what you plan to do.

A research proposal should be SHORT -- between 10 and 15 pages -- not 50 pages.

It should focus on what research you plan to do. We learn virtually nothing about what you plan to do in these 50 pages.

The literature review has PURPOSE -- it is to establish that there is a GAP -- something which is not known in the literature. THEN you should show HOW your research will fill the GAP. Nothing like this is present in the current proposal. Please read the instructions on the IIIE submissions website regarding how to write an Introduction to a research proposal in one or two pages. Basically the same format holds for the whole research proposal, except that what the intro does briefly in a para or two is expanded. Furthermore, the proposal concentrates on HOW you plan to overcome the defects and difficulties in the previous research. There should a lot more discussion about YOUR methodology. Given the large number of conflicting results and models, the ideal approach for you is the ENCOMPASSING approach, which is able to decide which among a class of models is the best, and to reject the weaker and invalid models and theories.
