Alpha Phi Sigma’s Kappa Kappa Chapter and the AMU and APU Chapter of Golden Key will be hosting a presentation by the Office of Career Services, presenting on the importance of networking.
Networking is a terrific way to share ideas and knowledge, especially with the use of modern technology. Whether it is asking for feedback or discussing your point of view, your knowledge will expand, allowing you to see things from a different perspective. It is very likely that within a group there is an individual who has experienced the same or a similar situation as you. This is an opportunity to learn from their experiences. Your AMU and APU campus has a variety of networking opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom. Connect with a mentor in ClearPath to learn more about the experiences of your classmates and alumni community members, or expand your professional network by connecting inside the classroom with your professors—who have established networks in their particular field of study.
Establishing personal and professional connections can open doors of opportunity! Practicing networking skills on a regular basis will help you open dialogues with new people and increase your confidence. We invite you to join us in this one-hour training session to explore networking and polish up your skills.
If anyone has any questions they would like for Career Services to answer, please send them to apuskappakappa@gmail.com prior to the session.
