Jennifer (Jen) Rowe
Jennifer Rowe’s journey in law and criminal justice began in 1994 when she worked in a law office. This passion and her desire to learn more lead her to enrolling and pursuing a degree with American Military University in February 2002. In October 2008 she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice however this sparked an even greater desire so she went back to AMU to pursue her Master’s Degree. Jennifer completed her program and was conferred her degree this past February. Throughout her studies Jennifer mentions that it continues to peak her interest and desires to give back and achieving this goal of receiving this degree would allow her to do just that.
Jennifer would begin volunteering with the Willard Police Department in Willard, MO prior to finishing her degree which would help her gain the needed experience she desired in the Criminal Justice field. Her willingness and desire to learn about law enforcement and criminal justice quickly lead to her doing grant writing and research for the department. She has written five (5) grant proposals and has received one community grant through Wal-Mart for equipment and computer upgrades. Some of the grant proposals she’s worked on is for the purchase of body cameras and systems for active officers assigned to the department and assisted with finalizing the DUI grant for the department which they’ve completed work for. Jennifer has assisted in getting the department into the DOD 1033 program which allows them access to DOD items that are no longer needed and for free. These items range from clothing, vehicles, and computers to name a few thus saving the department money.
Jennifer’s desire is to get into Law Enforcement specifically working research and solving cases.
