APUS Give Back Service Event

Post date: Sep 10, 2015 11:02:58 PM

As a member of the American Military University and American Public University community, we encourage you to join us in service this fall, in recognition of the National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11.

The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by the nonprofit MyGoodDeed. This effort first established the inspiring tradition of engaging in charitable service on September 11th as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.

AMU and APU students, alumni, faculty, and staff will be volunteering at the community service events listed below.

Many of the event details are still being finalized. As the event approaches, the local student volunteer coordinator will contact all volunteers with additional details such as time, parking instructions, attire, and more.

We encourage members of the APUS community to share their participation by using the hashtag #APUSgivesback on social media.

Have a service idea and want to lead a group of AMU and APU volunteers in your community? We want to grow this list of service opportunities and continue giving back in our community throughout the fall. Contact us at community@apus.edu and we’ll help you get started.
