There are two ways to easy ways create a Resume using Google Docs.
There are many tools that are very easy to use that add to the power of Google Docs. Two of those tools are templates and add-ons.
Activity: Create a resume (using Add-ons in Google Docs)
The first is with add-ons. Add-ons for Google Docs (and Sheets) are new tools available in the menu that allow you to add all kinds of functionality to your documents, including signing faxes, creating bibliographies, creating labels and flowcharts, and more. To learn more about the many add-ons available and how to use Add-ons for Google Docs, check out the Google Drive Blog on the release of Add-ons.
Using a blank Google Doc, go to the add-on menu and get the add-on "Template Gallery" by Vertex42.
Once installed, open the "Template Gallery" under the Add-On menu and "Browse Templates."
Under the Letters & Resumes" category, you will have two options for resumes. Choose either the "Student Resume - Outline Format" or the "Student Resume - Table Format." Once you select it, it will make a copy of this file in your drive.
The second (and easier, more dynamic) option is to use the templates within the new Google Docs homepage. To get started:
Visit the Google Docs homepage, or select the Google Doc icon from Drive under your apps launcher.
From the homepage, explore the templates (under the More menu) and navigate to the Resume section. Choose a template. Once you have your document started from either the template gallery or the Google Docs templates:
Rename the document as [Your Name] - Resume
Edit all information in the resume to reflect your current status (of either now or after completing college). You may need to make up some information to make it seem a bit more realistic. The resume should reflect a job that you are interested in pursuing either upon graduation of high school or college.
Upon completion, turn in your document to your teacher with commenting rights.
