Research Data Centers

At this website is where they have all of the data. http://www.census.gov/ces/dataproducts/index.html . Go to the second heading, "Restricted-Use Data" and click on either demographic or economic surveys. Below is what i have internally. Unfotrunately, it's kind of a mess with no good, short overviews of all the datasets. Digging on your part is necessary. I would say in general it's useful to identify a research question and then try to figure out the data, though I know it's nice to find out in advance what is available. This is a list of working papers that are from CES in Census and can provide a good guide to what other people have done: http://ideas.repec.org/s/cen/wpaper.html. There is also data from Social Security and IRS. In general, it's best to look what others have done, I'll try to find a list of working papers from the RDCs.
