600 mg of sodium molybdate and 1200 mg of thiourea (or thioacetamide) are mixed into 140 mL of distilled water with stirring for 1hr.
The solution is then transferred into a Teflon-lined autoclave and kept at 200 ºC for 24 h.
The black precipitates are centrifuged, rinsed with water and ethanol several times, and dried at 60 ºC overnight.
MoS2 nanosheets (MSNs) are prepared by ultrasonication. 200 mg of MoS2 is added into 100 mL solvents composed of ethanol and water (1:1 ratio) at room temperature and exfoliated by ultrasonication for 8 h. The resultant suspension is centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 20 min to remove the residual unexfoliated MoS2.
The as-prepared MSNs can be collected by centrifuging at 12,000 rpm for 30 min and dried at 60 ºC overnight.
