Certificates of Training and Completion

I. CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING

Cadets who successfully complete and pass two years of Aerospace Science are eligible for an AFJROTC Certificate of Training. (Some military services may honor a two year certificate for advanced enlisted promotion upon completion of basic training. See your recruiter for details.)

II. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Cadets who successfully complete and pass three or four years of Aerospace Science are eligible for an AFJROTC Certificate of Completion . Completion Certificates are considered a course graduation diploma and are normally awarded at the AFJROTC Graduation Ceremony held each May/June.

Some benefits of earning an AFJROTC Certificate of Completion are:

A. Some military services award advanced enlisted promotion upon successful completion of basic training.

B. Certain outstanding cadets could receive priority processing when enlisting in the US Air Force.

C. The Senior ASI may nominate outstanding third or fourth year cadets for military scholarship opportunities provided they have attained the academic requirements in the Cadet Guide.

D. Certain college ROTC programs award first year credit to students who have successfully completed three or four years of high school AFJROTC.

E. Clearly superior AFJROTC seniors could receive direct nomination for admission to the US Air Force Academy provided minimum academy academic admission requirements are met...see the SASI for details.

III. SENIOR AEROSPACE SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR ENDORSEMENT

Most college military scholarship programs and military enlistment offices not only require an AFJROTC Certificate of Training or Completion for advanced placement, but also require a written indorsement by the Senior ASI. At Tuscola High School, this indorsement is granted by the SASI to cadets who have continuously shown potential for future success as part of the US military.

(This indorsement is not automatic .)

***Note: Tuscola High School Aerospace Science certificates are NOT automatically awarded to cadets who complete the minimum requirements for the certificate. Each cadet's attitude and performance are reviewed by the AFJROTC faculty and by the Tuscola High School Principals before the graduation ceremony. Cadets who have demonstrated a positive attitude and have good school citizenship for the entire time they were in AFJROTC will be awarded certificates.
