Love Your Career Scholarship

Deadline: September 6 and again January 1 (offered twice a year)

Award Amount: $1,000

Selection Guidelines:

  • Attending college or university in U.S. after graduating from high school

Gates Scholarship

Deadline: September 8

Award Amount: funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Selection Guidelines:

  • African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American

  • Financial need (Pell Grant eligible-estimate is total family income of less than $50,000)

  • U. S. citizen, national or permanent resident

  • 3.3+.GPA

  • accepted and enroll full time in 4 year college/university program

  • Top 10% of senior class

  • Leadership ability ( participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)

  • Exceptional personal success skills (emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship

Deadline: September 19

Award Amount: full 4-year scholarship worth over $200,000, covering tuition & fees, room & board, books & supplies, travel expenses

Selection Guidelines:

  • Low income (earn less than $65,000 a year for a typical family of 4)

  • Excelled academically

  • Attend one of 40 college partners

  • DACA senior (undocumented senior)

  • Preference given to seniors interested in engineering, computer science, technology or math

JAMP (Joint Admission Medical Program) offered at several universities

Deadline: September 22

Award Amount:

1. $1,000 scholarship per semester every semester beginning in the spring semester of the sophomore year in college.

2. Support through undergraduate scholarships and summer stipends

3. Placement into JAMP Summer Internship experiences

4. Hands-on experience through clinical enrichment opportunities

5. Comprehensive, multi-phase MCAT preparation program

6. Personal & professional development through dedicated mentoring

7. Guaranteed admission to a participating Texas medical school if all criteria are met

8. Scholarships to attend medical school

Selection Guidelines:

  • interested in pre med

  • score at or greater than the state mean on the SAT and/or ACT. For the most current scores, see the JAMP website (www.texasjamp.org)

  • begin coursework at a participating university in the fall semester immediately following graduation from high school.

  • be Pell Grant eligible or have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of 8000 or less by completing and submitting the FAFSA (opens 10/1 so proof may arrive at that point)
