Lestari Physical Development (LPhyD) Research Group is taking Building Performance Evaluation (BPE) theory as a main platform, to be matched with Malaysia Dasar Pengurusan Aset Kerajaan and Manual Pengurusan Aset Menyeluruh, which being highlighted in NAFAM. NAFAM 2018 is successfully held on 8-9 Oct 2018 at PICC, Putrajaya, Malaysia. Among the best quoted statement is by the Minister, Tuan Baru Bian that urged Government Asset Management Policy should be reviewer (The Star, 2018 and Berita Harian, 2018). The subsequent research interest is drawn starting from this perspective. LPhyD is developing its research niche via this body of knowledge and further extend it within the built environment subject.
The main objective is to promote the implementation of Dasar Pengurusan Aset Kerajaan (DPAK) or Government Asset Management Policy and Malaysia Total Asset Management Manual (Manual Pengurusan Aset Menyeluruh - MPAM). The 10 asset life cycle is being put at fore front, with the emphasize on the latter 5 cycle, which is also termed as "facility management cycle" in the MPAM. Apart from this, LPhyD also play an important role in developing sustainable campus assessment tool for measuring the "greenness" of such sustainable campus.
The main activity centred to research and disseminating knowledge about sustainable physical development in view from DPAK & MPAM perspective, developing research & competency database, as well as established the research network locally and internationally.
For BPE, the main reference point is the work done by Wolfgang F. E. Preiser and Jacqueline C. Vischer, which derived from their book titled Assessing Building Performance. The development of BPE is well documented by Prof. Keith Alexander during keynote address in 2nd IBCC 2011.

Introduction
Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) is a house of Malaysian Surveyors (Sr). For Building Surveying (BS) members, the information cover about the division, list of bs members, and Registered Building Surveyors & their firms.
Starting from 2 May 2012, Registered BS can register their business with MOF with the code of 330208 (BS Firm registered with MOF). The latest revised code is on Oct 2013. This is a wonderful recognition for BS. The full code mapping of consultancy services demonstrates the BS services is recognized at par with the other consultancy services, and there is a need of special code being given to highlight its specialty and expertise.
Recognition by JPA/SPA is also established, and JPA has outlined the BS scope of work. In simple word, BS job function can be summarized as 'Bertanggungjawab terhadap pelaksanaan kerja-kerja pematuhan prestasi, senggaraan dan kawalan bangunan pada bangunan-bangunan baru dan sedia ada' (credit to Prof. Sr Dr. Ahmad Ramly, Dec 2014).
The division next target is to empower our own BS members. The question to ask; how far the BS knows about BS? The points here are just a piece of BS profession that the members need to know, and now its become compulsory knowledge as to be accepted as full member of BS RISM.
In governing BS profession, the code of practice is going to be introduced from time to time. The list of the code:
1. CPBS101: Code of Practice for Building Inspection Reports
2. CPBS102: Code of Practice for Building Maintenance
For university, the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) produced the Building Surveying Program Standard that is now in force as per MQA circular no. 2/2013. For further details, follow this link:
