ASSESSMENT OF SPEECH & LANGUAGE

SPEECH: The production of the appropriate movements of lips, tongue, palate,      vocal cords & respiratory muscles to cause appropriate sounds.

EXAMINATION OF PATIENT WITH DYSPHASIA

Ø  Is patient Right (or) Left handed

Ø  Education (reading, writing, foreign tongues)

Ø  Is he deaf on one (or) both sides

Ø  Can he recognizes ordinary sounds & noises

Ø  Is he attempt to answer a question

Ø  Is spontaneous speech fluent

Ø  Does he recognizes written speech

Ø  Can he Name at sight words, letters, numerical & objects

Ø  Can he match an object with its Name

Ø  Can he Read loud
