Our guest speaker is Marilyn Phillips

Marilyn will sing, lead us in song, and will share glimpses of her life journey.

Marilyn was born in Olds, Alberta and raised in Edmonton, but has lived in many places: 3 in Alberta, 3 in Ontario, 2 in Brazil (as a CBM missionary) and 1 in Regina - for 27+ years - longer by far than anywhere else! This has truly become her home.

Upon moving to Regina in 1992, she studied at Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina, earning a Master of Religious Education (1997), then worked at Canadian Bible College as Student Ministry Coordinator until the school’s move to Calgary in 2003. She has had a variety of other educational, employment and ministry experiences - most involving people and/or music - and life as a pastor’s wife and ministry partner to Ron for 35+ years offered many opportunities.

Since Ron’s retirement 6 years ago, she and Ron have enjoyed worshiping, fellowshipping and serving at First Baptist. Marilyn’s part-time “retirement job”, singing in seniors’ care homes, combines her love of God, people and music, and she enjoys it very much. She has a keen interest in “Missions” as well, and a deep desire to see Christ’s church grow in Regina, all of Canada, and around the world.

Marilyn and Ron have two married children, Jeremy (Regina) and Lori (Langley), and seven grandchildren, all of whom bring much joy into her life.
