وقد ركز الإسلام على أهمية العلم. حيث أن المعرفة والحكمة من الصفات الرَفِيعة اليي يمكن للفرد أن يملكها. وهو ينطبق على جميع العلوم المشتقة من القرآن الكريم بالذات وكذلك العلوم التي تتعلق بالصحة البدنية والعقلية والعلوم الاجتماعية. يشجع الإسلام جميع المسلمين للدراسة والبحوث من أجل خدمة المجتمع الاسلامي وفائدة الإنسانية بوجه عام.
Islam has emphasized the importance of Ilm. Knowledge and wisdom are two of the sublimes qualities that individual can possess and it applies to all the sciences, that derived from the Glorious Qur’an itself, and others as they relate to the physical and the social sciences. Islam encourages all Muslims to study and research for the sake of serving the community of Muslims and benefiting humanity at large.
