We are very fortunate to live so near the ByWard Market, but it is very busy and the volume of walk-by traffic at all hours of the day is a security threat. The Board continues to place a high priority on building safety and security, and welcomes feedback and suggestions in this area. It’s important for everyone to continue to be careful to watch the garage door close completely behind them every time. To avoid harmful fumes for the first-floor residents and the garage, move your car onto the street while you wait for the garage door to close.
Report immediately by email to a Board member and our Property Manager, should you ever see any door that does not close and lock completely.
We are a friendly building, and all visitors known to residents are welcome in our building. But it is unacceptable for any resident to admit a stranger into our locked building unless they continue to supervise them throughout the visit. If a stranger (e.g. pizza delivery, repairman, campaigner) rings your buzzer, go and meet them at the front door.
We take safety and security issues very seriously and want everyone to report immediately by email to a Board member should you ever become aware of any problem.
