Short Description:
In simulations there are time-independent counters (e.g. packet sizes or waiting times in G/G/1 systems) and time-dependent counters (e.g. size of waiting queue or system utilization). For the derivation of statistics of time-dependent counters, it is necessary to take into account the timestamps in the simulation. For example, consider the simulation of a cyclist going uphill with 7 km/h and downhill with 70 km/h. What is the average speed?
